Claire Chang is an experienced yoga teacher, contemplative practitioner, holistic health therapist, educator with over 20 years of teaching experience. Yoga has been an integral part of her daily life for more than two decades, and for the past 12 years, she has dedicated her practice and teaching to the Kaiut Yoga Method.
Claire has travelled extensively to study directly with Francisco Kaiut, the Method’s founder, and has taught internationally, including in official Kaiut Yoga schools. She has also contributed to the development of the Method’s published literature, serving as editor of Francisco Kaiut’s A Journey to the Heart of Pain and Ravi Kaiut’s The Kaiut Yoga Method.
Her teaching draws on a broad background in contemplative practice, psychotherapy, Buddhist studies, craniosacral therapy, primitive reflexes and the study of human development, health and adaptation. With more than two decades of experience working in mental health, specializing in complex trauma, dissociation and psychosis, Claire brings a particular sensitivity to the complex relationships between body, mind, experience and wellbeing.
Over the years, Claire has worked with students ranging from teenagers to people in their nineties, including those navigate trauma and other complex, chronic and extreme mental health issues, as well as those living with chronic pain, acute injuries, major neurological conditions, restricted mobility and other health challenges, as well as athletes, experienced yogis and highly active individuals seeking to maintain and develop their physical capacities.
Known for her warmth, humour, precision and thoughtful teaching, Claire creates an environment in which students can explore their bodies with curiosity and develop a practice that responds to their individual needs and abilities. She is particularly interested in yoga’s potential to cultivate awareness, adaptability and the conditions for long-term health.
Through Three Oceans Yoga, Claire is dedicated to making the Kaiut Yoga Method accessible to students throughout Australia and the Asia-Pacific region, offering an approach to yoga that can be practised throughout life, whatever one’s starting point.
